EHIC cards

Thinking of going on hol to EU countries, and wondering about health insurance. According to an NHS website, existing EHIC cards still give cover up to the expiry date (Oct 23 in my case). I suppose that must be correct, they should know, but after Brexit it seems too good to be true.
Can anybody confirm, or better still had experience of using it.

Yep. EHIC still valid but have been replaced with GHIC. My mate used his GHIC a while ago. Still not as good as proper health insurance though because you are limited to state run hospitals and you could be a loooong way from one when you need it.

Thanks. I saw that about GHIC, can apply for that within 6 months of expiry of EHIC.
