It's a shame the manifesto isn't a legally binding contract between the government and joe public. At least when they fail to deliver you could have them removed from office or refuse to pay your taxes on the grounds that they have breached the contract. That would be fun, a general election every other month

What about cutting their pay when they default on pseudo promises made ? Just like working in the private sector ... have to perform or disappear, cold logic !!
The MP's that do not perform would end up skint .. and would soon skidaddle !!

If I was in his position, I would do what most other politicians and leading figures have done in similar circumstances, and that is act in a dignified manner and ignore it.

glad someone else has sussed D&J out you are perfectly right they never answer anything where a strong argument has been put forward they merely resort to insults hoping that will take the heat off them, so sad!

I would say that Prescott punching that hippy in the face was the best thing the Labour party has done since abolishing the tax on dripping sandwiches and gravy wi' chips.

It made me glad that at least one person in the government wasn't a complete and utter pansy. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy's an idiot, but at least he is an idiot who will punch hippies in the face when the situation demands it.
