Electric Meter

Just have it fitted.

It's a meter.

No different from any other meter and this thread has proved it. (y)
No different, there was a problem with smet 1's and smet 2's come with their own problems. Also profiling customers can have unintended consequences as pointed out in the link.

was.

Lol.

You said there was no difference, in all the howling you've done not once have you said anything about smet 1 and smet 2 meters.

You said there was no difference
I wasn't referring to colour or flavour or pretty lights. More in context and relevance with the thread (remember). They all just meter your energy and this.....

"..People with smart meters are protected by exactly the same strict regulations that protect anyone with a traditional meter relating to an energy supplier switching off or disconnecting their gas or electricity supplies. 'Your energy supplier cannot disconnect you without first assessing your situation and how a disconnection might affect you..."

Nonsense.

You are at no greater risk of having your meter switched to pre-pay or cut off with a SM than you are with an anologue. Wrong again boyo.

Next.
So according to you they need a court order to switch you?

So no comment on the profiling of customers.

I'm saying the processes that lead there are no different whether you have either meter. One may be more practical than the other - so be it.

Which is of course wrong.

Smart meter installed
Smart meter wrongly over reads or energy firm make a mistake
bill is disputed.
smart meter remotely switched to pre-pay until "debt" repaid.
energy firm sits back counting the money given you cannot get power without pre-payment and will have to pay more.
Brian hits his targets.
Consumer has to fight energy firm.

Non-Smart meter installed.
Smart meter wrongly over reads or energy firm make a mistake
bill is disputed.
energy firm requests entry to fit pre-pay.
bill is disputed.
applies for court order
bill is disputed
nothing happens until dispute resolved
Brian has to look in to dispute.

Wasn't hard to box you into a corner noseall given you appear clueless about smart meters.
It would have been more informative for the op who was enquiring for you to disappear down and a ditch rather than contributing to the thread.

Nonsense.
pants on fire

If it was nonsense - the regulator would not have stepped in.
If it was nonsense - citizens advice and other consumer watch dogs would not have to publish guidance
if it was nonsense - the press would not be full of articles about people's meters suddenly flashing "top up" without their knowledge.

You and MBK just keep filling the thread with nonsense waffle. (y)
