Hi there.
I've been trawling postings for an answer but cannot find what I am looking for....
I am replacing an old 8.5kW electric shower that currently sits on the end of 13m of surface mounted 6mm twin and earth with a 40A MCB and double pole switch in the bathroom. The cable runs alone apart from the 1st 300mm or so where it exits the CU. Is the existing cable good enough to carry a 9.5kW shower or would the wiring need increasing to 10mm/the MCB need swapping for a 45A? I do not want to re-route thicker cable but wouldn't mind swapping the MCB, so am I better sticking with a 8.5kW shower unit or is it possible with no safety issues?
Thanks in advance...
