I've had two guys work for me who had done the qualify quick route both where useless as they had minimal practical experiance and neither had what I would consider a competent level of technical knowledge. I wouldn't employ another or use any tradesman who has not done a proper apprenticeship.
There is no subsitute for time when it comes to learning skill of hand.
Having said that there is lots of people earning the keep who's workmanship is slow / poor
they just don't earn good money!
