The subsidy scheme provided a reduction in the cost of the charge point itself. The cost of providing an adequate supply (32A usually) is not included in the scheme/subsidy.
That was my understanding. I have done a few EV points and usually people paid around £150 and this was for the installation costs, usually a maximum length of cable and connection to an existing db or fitting a separate consumer unit, with the charge points provided under the grant. Though I never dealt with that side of it, just did the installation
