Like most of you, I'm sick & tired of the way this country is going and I can't see it getting any better

If you could emigrate, where would it be and why?

(I think know where pipme is going :) )

Geronimo. :D :D :D When tother half completes her 40 / 80ths .. We are OFF to a place where most inhabitants want to be ... Not just for the 'State benefits' whilst carrying a tree trunk on shoulder.
I'll be 'Okker' inside 2 yrs, no doubt ... The only way to emigrate IMO is to integrate, no wierd customs, embrace the new country - Not try to change it.

I dont think you are talking for everyone. I am very happy in the UK, maybe I would prefer the countryside, but not a different country. If I were in a job I didnt like I would leave, if were in a country that I didnt like I would look at leaving that also.

I totally agree, I can't see what this country has to offer, unless your a bludger.

I think it would have to be somewhere warmer and drier, the weather stinks these days! Definitely not the US, probably a mediterranean country, except for spain.

Can't comment on this really
We emigrated to here

(And loving it, much more freedom to start-up-business than where we come from)

Where did you come from ?

On the subject of emigration, Canada's pretty cool - Bit chilly in winter though !

Just from accross the water: The Netherlands.
worst 'climate' for getting in (or staying in) business

If it was warmer and drier here it would be perfect so I've decided to stay cos there is no such place  Home is the best place on the planet.

Canada is great, all my family went to live there years ago, I was there last summer & I am going again for xmas & new year.
Winters cold, summers hot & humid, the way of life & the Canadians, brilliant.

Winters arent cold they last 6 months and will freeze your testicles off

Canada is also known for being one of the most boring places on the planet

Well according to a large pole of 200 countries the following came out best
in quality of life style.

Rank Country Score (out of 10)
1 Ireland 8.33
2 Switzerland 8.07
3 Norway 8.05
4 Luxembourg 8.02
5 Sweden 7.94

Personally I fancy New Zealand ( Lord of the Ring country)
Nice climate, nice country, nice people.

Absolutly no doubt italy. great climate, people, football, way of life and food! i think id probably go for a place here and there though to get the best of both worlds

Best thing about moving to Europe is that, generally, they don't have the stupid house prices we do, so (depending on when you bought in the UK) you could sell up over here and then buy a house outright over there with the equity. No mortgage, no having to work until Thursday lunchtime just to pay for the roof over your head.

Which means you are then freer to do a lesser paid, but more rewarding job... Think I'll become an Olive Farmer, then sell 'em on t'internet.

I often get breally fed up with this country, it does make me sick at times, but without wishing to start anyone off in a slanging match, the root of the problem lies with the Britsih Public. If we actually stood up to Government and Forced change that we wanted, then things would be better.

This country is no good at civil disobedience, we are simply too damned polite and nice, consequently the Goverment shaft us every chance they get, we all smile and say..Another Please Sir.

Having lived elswhere, I do think that all natiuons are must the same after a while, all have their good points and bad points, ups and downs, but generally I do think the UK is one of the better ones in the overall scheme of things. If this were not the case we would not have so many Immiogrants coming here would we...
