Hi, I have emptied my indirect cylinder of water as the tank was leaking from the top, the immersion heater element had blown and caused the seal to break. I don’t use hot water from this tank, and currently looking for options on what to do next. The heater element seems like it won’t open (20 yr old tank). So current thoughts are I need to replace the tank. I didn’t really want to do this as looking to put a combo boiler in in January. If I filled the tank to where the coil for the radiators runs to, could I put the heating back on? Any thoughts massively appreciated.

You don’t need the cylinder full of water, the coil inside is separate,,just turn heating only on
