Does anyone have an Escort Van, considering getting a cheap run around, read a bit about them and it seems as long as they're looked after they seem to go on and on - any advice, considering a W reg so not mega money
well didn't really HAVE to, but a quote for £450 of welding and work to get through the MOT ( 2 new cills, rear hangers on one side and new rear brake lines ) and a warning that I'd just be chasing the rust from then on from the welding guy, I decided to cut my losses..
I would have had another but they shortened the cab by about 6 inches between the N reg I had and a W reg I test drove, and I'm a big guy so didn't fit in the newer versions..
the engine was sound and if I'd looked after the underside ( wash regular, paint brake pipes with oil once a year, get the cills painted / waxoiled etc ) then it would probably still be going in another 10 years.. only the bodywork let me down..
yep, will agree, its the tin worm that gets them, my dads has over 150K on the clock, engine sweet as a nut, starts first time every time, body has had it though...
