Well, I've just had a mental run-through of all the cars I've owned (total 21 since 1996 due to buying "bangers" and only running them for a few months), and I've actually been a lot more patriotic than I thought - I've had:

1 each of Japanese, Swedish, German, Russian (don't ask) and Italian,
5 French,
and 11 British.

So I think I've done my bit. Although in all honesty the best, without a shadow of a doubt, have been the French ones

Toyota Carina
Toyota Corrola

Audi A6

And I think at least one of the Toyotas was made in the UK too, so I think I'm off the hook. Best one was the Rover 620 - Good budget luxury !!! The Audi is a company car and inherited from the person that had the job before me but, IMHO, not a patch on the Rover.

Not related to the Van, but Buying British in general - It was on the news recently that the BNP had a consignment of their Newspaper confiscated by Customs & Excise when it came into to country from its printers.

The printers are in Slovakia !!

I've just had a look at their website and they even whinge about it without any apparent sense of the irony of the situation. Am going to have a shower now and delete my History file......
