I have been sold a jet was from an English company that when delivered has a plug on it like the ones used in Europe. Is it right that they can sell these in the UK? Also can I just use an adaptor, or can i cut the plug off and fit a UK 3 pin plug.

I think it's "Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994" which means they have to supply equipment with British type plug?

May also be "The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994" which I think is part of the same.

I think they can provide an adaptor but you should be able to plug it in without doing any wiring.

It may be limited to Domestic not sure.

German Schuko sockets are not allowed in UK, however the plugs are however I can't see how anyone can provide items with those plugs fitted in UK.

Adaptors

are available.
