Looks like another back door tax on the way from our caring government.

The minumum charge is £5000 and that starts at a pretty low 6000 people.
It is hard to believe that these actions are properly thought through before implication. I would of thought the smaller charity events would struggle to make this much anyway, if they did, there would be next to nothing left for whatever the fund-raising was for.

Some civil servants must sit there all day just thinking of new charges. :(

sounds like a good idea, at least it'll go towards stopping them blooming raves!

Not quite true, it will stop some of the better organised events. The illegal raves will still go ahead, thats part of the 'fun' of the event. There aren't many raves that attarct an excess of 6000 people. The government will also rely on being told about the events in order to tax them.

Does this mean New Years celebration's in London, Glasgow etc are taxable?

Don't know how many MP's there are but if there was enough a meeting of the Lords or Commons could become taxable. Wouldn't that be amusing.
