You should elaborate on what experience you have with "kids like that". Seriously. To see a picture of one banner waving steam punk darling and claim to know all about "them" is priceless. You'd hate hearing how someone knows all about "jews" for instance.

I was questioning Gerrydelasel for why he/she put the picture up. What was it they were trying to show?

I made no assumption about the person in the picture, but related my own experience of such people (which is considerable, as I spent much of my youth hanging out with steampunk/goths/punks and other sub-genres). I know people who have grown up to continue dressing like that as well. I could bore you further as to how I meet many such people, but it would seem pointless.

I made no claim to know them all, but GD seemed to think that it showed something negative, so I was questioning why he/she thought this was might be the case.

I should add that I have yet to get a reply on this issue.
