Hello I have bought a house with laminate flooring in the lounge. My issue is I would like to fit a gas fire place in the chimney breast (well get a fire shop to fit) but I'm concerned that getting to the old gas pipes under the floor might be an issue.
As it happens the previous owner asked the floor fitter to install an opening for the end of the old pipes but this is to the right of the chimney breast so some work would be needed to add extended pipes to any new fire.
I'm concerned that I might need to have the whole floor lifted. I've added a picture, you can see the opening for the end of the gas pipes to the right of the chimney. You might also be able to see what looks like a old very small diameter pipe in the chimney breast put I don't know if this is blocked off, I can't see where it goes to.
Thanks
