EXPLODING UNVENTED CYLINDER

Turns out to be his over active imagination again. so a EV has split again

It split violently according to the poster.

and quite clearly the cylinder and safety kit hadn't been installed correctly hence the steam.

The discharge pipe did not contribute to the explosion.

It may have even been a cheep Chinese one that are now being supplied

So expect more KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOMS, if this sort of quality is being sold. Stick to zero-risk vented heat banks.

same old carp and scaremongering from water systems AKA dr drivel

get a life you pratt

expansion vessel
not an exploding cylinder, then

Grow up. It is a part of the cylinder controls and make up - a part only approved man can touch. It exploded violently. Enough to kill or seriously injure.

where did you find the word "exploded"? and what evidence do you have that it was "Enough to kill or seriously injure" or did you make those bits up?

It split violently according to the poster.

but

(apparently pretty violently)

apparently

is there anyone here who saw the expansion vessell split or is this just worthless guesswork?

EXPLODING UNVENTED CYLINDER

I noticed on Screwfix someone is asking advice as his unvented cylinder exploded - ..... no one was near the cylinder when it exploded violently. A death would have resulted. ...

and on investigation we find

(1) it was not a cylinder

(2) it did not explode

(3) there is no evidence that it might have caused a death

What nonsense this man writes

(1) It was a part of the cylinder make up. Do you know how they work?

(2) Did it unzip itself and ask permission first?

(3) The posted thinks differently, stating, apparently pretty violently) and was gushing steam and water into my airing cupboard. Luckily no one was under the water or they might not be here now

How do these people live with themselves? How do the sleep at night?

Apparently That mean Don't know, like you he's guessing.

Explain this then Drivel.

We have a heavy gauge steel expansion vessel, designed to take excessive pressures, and we have a paper thin copper or stainless steel cylinder.

The bigger the vessel/cylinder the weaker the sides.

Ok, so far so good, we know what should happen as we pump the cylinder up to say 20 bar  and none of the safety devices work, in fact lets cap them off, like they did in the video.

You will find the cylinder looses it's shape along time before it gets anywhere near 20bar, and the expansion vessel would be the last to go.

No, the OP wants to put it back into service, so clearly no damage.

Assuming this isn't another of your pathetic posts Drivel, then at best the builder damaged the expansion vessel.

I dont know you might assume this is not !

It looks exactly like all of his other pathetic posts to me !

The Site Owner should be deleting all of this nonsense!

He wrote VIOLENTLY That was clear. Did it ask permission before exploding to warn them all off?

I will not explain your drivel.

No one capped the safety devices off.

Stop the drivel.

What the man said about the violent explosion....

Re: the damage to the expansion vessel, the metal is ripped for around 270 degrees underneath, nearly where the vessel reaches its maximum diameter and the top of the vessel is bent back at an angle. Gap is about 5cm at widest point. I reckon it must have been going some to bend it in that way.

Very violent indeed.

Interesting to see a very similar argument going on via the Screwfix forum, strangely enough there its one person disagreeing with the others.

By the logic being applied here, maybe we should ban cars, gas, electricity, wars and more or less everything else. A tanker delivering kerosene to a property caught ablaze near me recently. Luckily no-one was hurt but perhaps we should ban deliveries of heating oil for a start. There may be bodies in future.

no prizes for guessing who that might be

so we should all stay at home and not do anything dangerous in case we cause a pile up of dead bodies in something we do OK.
oh just thought of a problem with that we might electricute ourselves or worse still might get caught by imaginary exploding cylinders

dillema stay in? go out? stay in or go out

Can someone advise me if ladders are banned? Havent heard of one exploding yet but I have one in the garage and would like to use it to access my gutters. However I suppose I could fall off in which case the ladder would be unsafe. Another dilemma....
