Extending flue pipe.

lol i think this guy has one of these 2 ideas. either he means if he moves the boiler then he was not have to extend the flue, but yes he will have to move it. So my second guess would be that he thinks he can just push the wall across will the boiler and flue attached.

Took me a while to understand your English Steve, but yes, I do intend to move the boiler over with the flue still attatched, hence not having to touch the flue.
Shouldn't be that difficult should it? Just a matter of re-routing the pipework.

Mmmmm It doesn't work like that Forest

Why have I not thought it through?
Because either way you need a CORGI registered plumber - if you change the flue this must be done by a CORGI operative, and if you move the boiler, and therefore also the pipes, you'll need a CORGI man to come and move the gas pipe. There is no way you can avoid getting a pro in.

And just who is going to enforce that :?:

Don't really see the need for a corgi registered plumber to cut and rejoin 5 pipes.

If one of the pipes that needs to be moved is a gas pipe then you MUST have a Corgi man, otherwise you'll be breaking the law.

Yes Wiggi I know that, assuming everything goes according to plan, it's highly likely that Mr Grump won't ever get caught doing unauthorised gas work, but I'd like to think that we could possibly encourage some sensible behavior on the forum.

I suppose he could move the boiler and all the pipes except the gas, then get someone in to do the gas pipe. That'd save a bit of money.

Yeah what's the worst that can happen ?

I Agree entirely with tou muggles, but, when everything does not go according to plan DO YOU HAVE A PLAN "B".

Are we talking me personally here or a general 'you'? My point is that those of us who have done the training have the knowledge, tools and experience to be able to deal with small issues before they become big problems. I'd be surprised, for example, if assuming FG went ahead with moving the gas himself, he would then go on to correctly perform let by and standing tests to ensure the system is safe. Or even before doing that, bonding the pipes and removing the meter etc etc. It's the little things that make the difference between safe and bang.
