Extending TV coax cable from loft

stick a (thin) nail through the ceiling where you want to bring the cable down the wall - easily filled after. Measure to the middle of the wall, 20mm hole down, cable rod through the eggbox stuff.

Done it several times myself, makes for a very neat install, especially if you drop the power down from above too.

Sorry, clicked post too soon Thanks for reply. You can see coving in earlier picture. I guess I’d be putting the nail through ceiling butted against coving. I’d also have to add the distance of the coving, before “measuring to middle of wall”??

The key is to use a small drill first if you make a mistake.

And don’t drill on an angle.

Big one as it’s behind the tv.
You could start small

But you may need to get a
Finger or two in there to feel around.

I tend to use a hole cutter as you get a nice bit to put back in after if necessary - say around 70mm

At the risk of complicating this mammoth engineering project even further -

Why don't you at least fit a flex outlet plate for neatness, even if you don't use the connections?
Then you will have a plate sized hole to play with.
