Other than the 80% of Seagate drives I've had to RMA at least once, if not twice or more?

And I'd like a Ferrari for this spare penny. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Half size != half cost.

I have had Seagate 640GB From ebuyer via rboffers http://www.rboffers.com/computers/s...d-drive-hi-speed-usb-59-99-ebuyer-72916.html/. I use it only to store temporary backups which I need to update every week. YEah very easy super fast.

I'd have to agree with Monkeh, Seagate are known for being unreliable.

Personally I prefer Western Digital, I've had one issue in the past with a WD drive within the warranty period and it was replaced by Western Digital within a week with an advance RMA.

That said I can't really comment on external drives because personally I've never used one or seen a real use for them other than taking up space on your desk.
