Hey all, not been here in ages.
So, i have a dwarf/retaining wall made from concrete fence posts and 2 x gravel boards high. It’s been there years so no issues with movements etc.
How do I make good this wall to be able to receive split-faced tiles?

TIA

Just a guess... without seeing it, why can't you just use external tile adhesive?

Are the gravel boards textured?

Thanks for the reply. If you can picture the wall; I have 4” concrete posts that obviously stick out way proud of the gravel boards. Currently I have decking that totally covers this wall. I want to rip the decking off and replace it with tiles.

Decking? doesn't that go on the ground... Do you mean cladding?

Why not just take a photo?

If you need to get it flat, use tile adhesive to bond cement board first then tile.

lol, yes good idea.
I used decking as cladding too. The pics should make it clear, I obviously can’t show the posts and gravel board retaining wall that is boxed inside the cladded decking in front of the lawn.
If backer board is a viable solution I’ll happily consider that. It would to be cemented to the gravel board and bought up to the level of the posts. Then simply tile all the way across hopefully(?)
