I have just put in a new wetroom. It is 3m x 0.8m. At one end is a shower with a fixed head and a hand held head. In the middle of the wetroom is a washbasin and a wc at the other end. There is no splash screen between the washbasin and the shower, the floor is continuous tiles throughout. There is no window and I need to put in an extractor fan. I have seen one I like but it is not a SELV/zone 1 fan. It is a low profile ceiling fan. How close to the shower am I allowed to put the fan?

Thanks but it doesn't really say anything about wetrooms. If there's no shower tray, how do I know where the shower area officially ends?

Simple, safe and possibly best solution is to mount the fan unit away from the wet room and have just the grill in the wet room.

If you really like the design of your choice of fan and must have it then remove the motor and fan and dispose of them and use just the grill in the wet room with a more practical fan away from the wet room.

(( edit the manufacturers may be prepared to supply a unit without motor and fan if you ask them ))

This where the builders put the fan in my mothers wet room.

It was a low voltage fan and the control box was in the utility room next to the wet room and controlled by the light pull switch.
