If you are concerned about the ducting size then get a piece of flexible 6"" ducting ( fairly cheap) & fix that to the fan & the reducer to the exit pipe in the wall.
Ours has been working like that for 20 years without any problem. The only problem I have ever had with that type of motor is a build up of fluff & grease on the impellers.
