I've just expressed interest in the £40,000 motorhome, selling for 1/10 of the value - reply came instant, that I need to email [email protected] detailing the item I am interested in.

If it's in Liverpool you might have to buy new wheels for it...

I was told bricks are not safe. Although, they don't ever fail for the wheel grabbers.

Scammers are already everywhere. I don’t even know how to sit calmly on Facebook.

Other scams are some replies to Gumtree. Despite my advert showing full details with photos, a scammer will ask for the details to be emailed to them directly. Which is a big no no. Gumtree has a good system whereby all sales discussions are conducted via their website chat, so giving no visibility of my personal email details.

I had the same thing happen. I told them to FO. Apparently they will then change the story saying one driver will deliver the cash but can't collect the item and another will collect it. Of course, the collection driver will turn up first and collect the item and then the driver with the cash never shows….

Somebody must fall for it, otherwise they'd never bother.
