As for joe being my hero, I didn't say that. I was taking a bit of advice from both Thermo and joe. at the end of the day, this is only an internet forum and not worth getting upset about. In some cases where the mods appear to be over-moderating it could be as joe says that they do not like/ can't handle the subject. i.e. they're getting their asses kicked. I dont know how this appeared after having added you to my ignore list. However, now that it has, can I just say that if I wanted to pick a fight I wouldn't have pressed the ignore button in the first place. Will try again.

You may not see this if your ignore button works. Earlier today when I logged on, the one person on my list still had his posts visible to me and the ignore button had vanished. can I just say, that you were the one that called me uncouth. I was just asking for clarification. I can't remember having a go at you directly in any previous post. Maybe you're just a bit sensitive in your old age.

p.s. It is working now. Well good for you. I'll reciprocate the gesture and add you to my ignore list. One good deed deserves another.

Canis canem edit - caveat emptor: Don't sign up if you're a bit scared of other boys and girls. That's the way it should be.

If posts are removed from the forum, the very least that should be expected is a simple explanation of why and for what purpose.

Seems to me that certain characters have control issues that they should be addressing in their own time, not practising at the expense of other people on a public forum.

Some people, by evidence of their own postings, appear to have adopted the right to decide who deserves to live in "their" street, what pets their neighbours should keep and what they can and can't do with the Queen's highway. God forbid that anyone like that should become responsible for moderating.

Who moderates the moderators?

Surely this forum comes under the jurisdiction of the well documented human rights legislation we keep hearing about?

IF there IS an arbitrary form of censorship going on, it would be categorically wrong and inexcusable - any chance of a bit more transparency?

The Mods keep giving the same advice, time, after time, after time. It's very good advice, so I hope and trust that the person or persons it is directed at on this occasion, takes heed.

Its time you grew up my friend and listened to your own words ... This IS an internet forum and not somewhere people come "looking to pick a fight" to quote your lovely turn of phrase.

If you want to pick a fight and test your ability to withstand others who will give you a good run for your money post on the screwfix forum (amongst others) and see how long you last.

And, to the mods, great job guys keep trashing their posts ... We want discussions here not arguments/fights!

And, in the meantime, I'll keep ignoring Coco and friends.

I never said that I didn't like anybody. Out of the names you mentioned only one has decided to put me on his ignore list. He called me uncouth but I can't for the life of me think what it was I actually wrote that upset him. Probably a sensitive artistic type. Anyway it's his decision and he is entitled to make that choice. There are people on here I don't like but I won't name them. Don't want to boost their already over-inflated egos.

(1) I believe, but I am not sure, that 'coco' is a term of endearment used by one member to describe another.

(2) As far as I'm concerned, you couldn't be more wrong. I have never ever said, that I dislike any of the members named on your list, or indeed PJHB, the one you missed out. I have stated elsewhere that four of your five are on my ignore list, but the fact that I don't want to read their posts has nothing to do with my liking or disliking the people themselves. I don't even know them. If truth be told there are times, particularly when another member has quoted someone I chose to ignore, that I miss the good postings that they have made. That is the down side of using the ignore button. Most of the time however, I am happy that the posts are obscured.

Having said all that, I have absolutely no time for frauds.
