When I was running S/E co., registering with TPS made no difference. I had calls coming in thick & fast.

Seeing as I was paying 30p/min to forward them to my mobile, I had to get rid of them quick. Something along the lines of:

"Can I interest you in cheaper gas bills?"

"No. Goodbye."

[As a saleperson, they should know never to ask closed questions!]

But, I had a call from the US.

"We'd like to.......drone drone drone...."

"I'm not interested."

Repeat several times...

"Well, FU, then!" she said.... Oh dear.

I know these guys have a job to do, but they should realise when they're flogging a dead horse & give up, without losing their cool.

Me too. I also have CLI display so I can see when I get an "International" (usually a scammer outside the jurisdiction of TPS) or Number Withheld, and answer it suspiciously, or let it divert to the messaging thing.

I now get practically no marketing calls.

Careful with the "international" I sometimes use Skypeout and on some mobile networks it shows as international. I use it as its often cheaper than calling from a landline or moby.
