When selling a house do all windows and doors have to be Fensa registered?
I fitted a couple of triple glazed windows and a door myself. No, only the ones fitted since Fensa became a thing.
Yes if you have no Building Control sign off either (assuming it comes up as an issue in the sale), as mentioned you cannot get a Fensa cert for DIY fitted windows.I fitted a couple of triple glazed windows and a door myself.
indemnity insurance policy?
It's more than likely that the seller will be expected to pay and solicitors often have a computer says no policy as in if the seller doesn't pay the buyer will be advised to not proceed by their dopey solicitor such is the crappy system. But in the grand scheme of things as mentioned it's not worth worrying about, probably £75 or thereabouts. You may be asked as part of the enquiries. Just say 'I do not know'.
If a buyer is particularly concerned, their solicitor will sell them a silly indemnity policy. They might even ask you to pay for it. No obligation.
I wouldn't worry about it.
Fensa only applies to fitting standard, nothing to do with window quality .These window I've installed are better installed and if better quality than the Fensa registered windows.
More my point is I installed good quality as opposed to the fitters fitting crapFensa only applies to fitting standard, nothing to do with window quality .
