I have one chase to fill over plastic conduit and having looked around this board and the general consensus is bonding plaster up to 1-3 mm below surface then finishing plaster.

I have 2 questions...

Is there an alternative to bonding plaster as I only have one chase to fill and the smallest bag of bonding I can find is 25kg?

There's only approx 2mm gap either side of the conduit. Whats the best way to get the filler down the sides?!! There's also a small gap behind the conduit at one point... is it important to fill this gap?

Thanks in advance

Small bags of 'one-coat' or 'patching' plaster are available - something like this .

Push hard with your trowel - try to get a fair bit into those gaps before you do the main filling! Perfection is not required, but if you leave significant gaps there, subsequent cracking will be much more likely.

Kind Regards, John
