Filling a trench with concrete

I might be able to get a pump, but cost may be high. access is not too bad, but my neighbours will say no to a mixer on the drive i am sure. Our drives touch and both are narrow, so the mixer would have to rest on theirs.

If it is 9" then that means i need even less cement and mixing at my leisure is going to be much easier, plus costs will be less.

This means i will be needing 6T of concrete, or 3 cubm. That = £300 delivered. If i had mix it will be £135 ballast plus cement. Not a massive saving, but the working day will be less stressful for me.

I had to go down 2.2M for my extension, but I only put a metre of concrete in the bottom so I still had a fair way to come up in masonry, but I am used to working in trenches as trench fill is a relatively modern idea.

Shrinkable clay and Llylandi or whatever their name is close by in next doors garden.

Ok, sand and wall for me :)

any idea how many bags of cement for these footings if i use 6T ballast. I think the mix is 5:1. So maybe 45 bags ?

i think i saw some comment about this a while back by you. it sounded pretty hairy and looks it from the photo.

I was glad to get up to DPC.
Luckily I knew a couple of retired farmers who dug it out and took away the spoil and spread in on their land for less than £200.
