Normally, the more specialised and unusual the spec, the shorter the time between coming off the line and being registered. The more basic and standard the model the longer it can hang around before being sold. The specials specs will be preordered by a customer, who will likely be waiting for the car. Mine, which is a special top spec., was three weeks between rolling off and being out on the road.
