Fitting a bathroom suite

working in a house at the moment and its all lead
the gas brackets are still on the walls (and connected ) its like walking into a time warp :D

phhut, I've just used speedfit throughout bathroom and like you was pleasantly surprised with zero leaks. Inside the joints there is a rubber seal (very tight which is why they can be diff to get on sometimes) which does the sealing bit, after pushing the joint on you pull the joint back a bit and there are a number of metal grips inside which grab the pipe (copper or PVC type) and stop the connector coming off. To get the connector off again, push the collar on the end of the connector towards the connector which releases the grips on the pipe allowing it to be slid off.

I would say, go for gold, if you incure any problems, then this forum is always here to help. Then (hopefully), when your new suite is in, you will sympathies with us humble plumbers that the work wasnt quite as easy as you originally thought. Cant see a problem with you doing it, just allow a bit more time, and hair loss / grey ness.
 
KevP, have a weigh in mate with that amount of lead it must be worth a couple of month in down in Spain or a week in Wetherspoons :LOL:
