Does anyone know how easy it is to fit a liff limefighter to a combi boiler?

I have an existing one but it has sprung a leak so needs replacing, could I do it myself?

Thanks Anne

They are pretty easy to fit for someone with basic plumbing knowledge.

It may be better to find out why the old one is leaking!

I went to a boiler and found that a boiler fault had caused the magnetic conditioner to become damaged!

It is the jacket of the limefighter that has a pin hole in it!
Is it a case of turning the water off, unscrewing the old and fitting the new?

Usually pretty much that easy!

That should not happen and they may well send you a free replacement if you tell them what has happened as they are keen to maintain a reputation for the reliability of their products. You might have to return it to them.

Tell us the outcome!

We've managed to install the limefighter but we have a slight leak, have tried thread secure tape and sealant, any one have any other ideas?

Found this thread really usefull.

I'm in the same boat, got my plummer around 3 times to replace the limefighter but it only last a day or two, before leaking at the top and bottom of the limefighter. He is coming back tomorow again to look at it.

Does anyone know what the problem might be. It's 15mm version.

Inteteresting. have only come across this once - and it was in my home immediately before we were going out for a big dinner! It was such a fine stream of water jetting out it took several inutes to actually work ouit why all the sheets in the airing cupboard were wet! Very frustrating looking for a water leak wearing a dinner suit and dickie

Is the pinhole near the seam?. Ours was only about 4 years old.

Oh, by the way, it is normally a peice of cake to change. Where are the leaks now - are they on the threads?

It leaked at the top and bottom. Now the plumber got rid of the limefighter and joined the pipes with a copper pipe. He mentioned that after he had fitted the limefighter it became loose and hence started to leak again.

After a close inspection he found that the limefighter was not pump fit model but a bolt fit and the pipe had plastic caps, so he came to the conclusion that plastic vs copper connection was not good, hence becoming loose.

Hi there. I have a pin hole leak in my liff limefighter also and would like to find out if anyone can recommend a plumber around the dagenham area to fit a new one for moi.
