I'm planning to hang a flat trellis panel on each of the metal panels (see photo).

The metal panels are in a recess either side where they are flanked by a metal panel on the left and brick on the right, with roughly 2cm gaps between the panels either side. I'm planing to hang them about 10cm from the top and put some trough planters below to grow jasmine and other climbers up there.

I'm not allowed to drill holes, so I'd like to attach the trellis to the metal panels in a non-destructive way. I was thinking command strip hooks but wonder if I can get some "expanding anchors"* that expand within the gaps and are strong enough to then attach the trellis to?

Would love to get thoughts on how to do this securely!

*"expanding anchors" isn't the right term, but hopefully someone can name the right fixing!

Where are the doors going to? Why do you want to spoil the look of them by sticking those awful panels onto them. Are they metal for a reason ie fire safety/precautions, if so you won't be able to fix wood to them.

Hey @jj4091. They're metal panels not doors. The balcony has wooden decking too, so I think they're metal for decorative reasons.

Yeah I'm not sure about how yellow the trellis looks, was hoping that would fade over time and the planters would cover a lot of it. The other option is to get a planter with trellis built onto the back of it?

Magnets. Search eBay for "fishing magnet" and you will see plenty of disc-shaped magnets with either a thread or an eye to attach to.

Stainless steel panels is a pretty unusual choice for a wall. I wonder what's going on there?

That was my first thought too but unfortunately it's not magnetic metal! Sorry should have specified.

Part of me is thinking to maybe screw them to the back of the planters as I'm thinking to get tall ones...

Yes, then you can move them around without any bother [other than the weight].
Will be especially helpful when it turns out that that's a door :)

If you ARE still determined to stick them on, a tube of " sticks like s@#t" will do it no bother. ( just support them with temporary legs while it dries )
But I would deffo paint them first ! ( medium oak fence one coat ?? )

It's definitely not a door. And it backs onto the bedroom, so there's no risk in that respect.

I can't use any adhesive as I can't do anything destructive.

Unfortunately not.

Seems like the only way is either fix them to the planter or get a built-for-purpose trellis planter. They just don't tend to make them in the right sizes.

It's a lift shalf to another portal!

I wouldn't attach anything to the metal, it may leave a mark then you will be liable for repair/replacement.
