I had a “proper” repair done for free at kwik fit a few years ago. They had it all day and on promised to do it within the hour. Very busy so it kept getting left. On the 3rd occassion of going to collect it they did it whilst I waited for no charge!

The valve has been replaced & the rim re-sealed. The tyre was brand new & to date has never been on the road, also the pressure loss pre-dates fitment of the extension.

Unfortunately, some cheap places use bad stuff that leak. My two front's do that - these need pumping every month or so. My rears were done by another place and need topping up once a few years.

Put it in water and jiggle the valve thingie. The leak might show up then.

It was never about goodwill, it was their opportunity to get you in and turn the you into a customer for extra work that they were primed to find.
