Flushing system

Any one any tips for flushing my central heating system out?
After start up for winter the boiler is noisy but functions well.... its old but it might just need a flush ... cheaper than a new boiler at any rate.
If the exchangers is totaled how easy are they to fit.......its a two pipe system ....one in , one out?
Any thoughts would be welcome!
