If your Transit has a 2.5 Di engine (either with or without a Turbo) then it has NO glowpugs...
The earlier indirect injection York diesels did have, though.

As above - it was only Transits destined for Canada that had a hot plug system.
So, you need an excellent battery, good lead connections from the battery positive to the starter motor, and good earth lead connections from the battery negative to the bodywork, and then on to the engine/transmission.
The only other thing you can really do, if your cranking speed is low, is to use a thinner oil.

.. or add an extra battery - if you can find somewhere to fit it.

Indeed, the tipper Transit had a spare battery place under the bonnet, as the tipper motor was electrical. 2 batteries in parallel? As good as it can be, really.

Double check you have no leaks in the diesel line, thats allowing air in to
the system overnight Especially around the top of the engine. This would
leave it hard to start.

If you have a hand priming pump (might be on top of the fuel filter) pump it
before trying for a start. This will let you see if it starts easier?
