The rioting seem to be getting worse and there’s talk of imposing a state of emergency with curfews. Cobblers - we're supposed to be going there next week. Rioting scoundrels!

  • Looters targeted several parts of Paris and video shows the Nike store being smashed
That bloody Nike again. Riots always seem to start outside their stores!

Yes, I heard that on the radio today.

Some poor bugger gets killed, and b@st@rds tarnish their memory by helping themselves to swag.................

It's baked into the french psyche to take to the streets and be a nuisance. It predates fancy daps (Welsh slang for trainers).

A few weeks back a reporter was speaking with rioters somewhere in the states, can't remember where or what they were rioting about. The reporter, in the midst of all the rioting, spoke with a small group of young guys, faces covered, various projectiles in their hands.

'Why are you rioting?' asked the reporter
'Don't know, we just hate the police' came the reply, or words to that effect.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of those rioting in France are genuinely rioting because of their anger/sadness about the young guy who was killed, and the percentage who are simply doing it to riot and/or grab themselves a bargain.

It will soon calm down. Happens all the time when things kick off. Same with the strikes in France... Once one starts everyone gets involved.

Just keep away from the inner cities and you won't have any issues.

Ditto the UK...

So the UK and France have something in common ...

And the cause is often the police actions towards non-white communities in their respective countries!

Maybe if the little darling had done what the nice policeman with the gun was telling him to do, he would still be alive, just saying.
Maybe if he had been white the gun wouldn't have been fired?

Just saying ;)

Only main city we are going to is Rouen and I think it kicked off there today. Hopefully it’ll all be over by next week. Fingers crossed!

Apparently some other protestor has been killed ( reported on news)

Fell off a super market roof whilst out shopping
