Sure - in the US they wouldn't say that, because they washed their chicken in chlorine. Our lot say just cook it and you'll be fine. Both practices seem to more or less work ok, take your pick.The instruction to not wash raw chicken is mainly to stop the spread of bacteria round the kitchen.
