you make a fair point

teacher will have to be careful though or the same thing could happen to him as in France
He doesn't need to be careful if he has the intelligence to seek his peers approval for some dodgy classroom material.
Maybe he didn't seek prior approval because he knew he wouldn't get it.
He needs to be more careful with his selection of his classroom material.
But after this antic, I suspect he'll have difficulty finding another teaching job.

Transam is obviously telling lies again.
It is not his best achievement. He's very unsuccessful at it.

Some teacher from a grammar school has been suspended over a cartoon he showed in a lesson
Teacher has had to go into hiding due to threats from the religious fruit cakes

Racial hatred issues in white, western societies, by white people against BAME people is a reflection of the systemic, systematic, historic and societal discrimination experienced by BAME people.
All such incidences serve to reinforce those systemic, systematic, historic and societal prejudices.
For example, when English people insult Scottish people along nationalistic lines, it is not a reflection of any subjugation, or continued discrimination of either group.
When white people abuse BAME people along a nationalistic basis, it is perceived as a reinforcement and a continuation of historic bigotry. Such discrimination becomes endemic and systemic so that individual actors become unaware of their internalised prejudice, and continue such discrimination unconsciously.

There is also a difference in insults based on a class, or the remnants of a class system, compared to racial abuse.
F#ck me upside down!
You are full of shyt and unashamed of it!
The most racist people on earth are what you refer to as BAME.
Go to any african or asian country and see how they kill each other just because they are from different villages.
I have seen it with my own eyes.

Freedom of speech should be seen in the wider context of freedom to express yourself, including freedom to protest.

The same people arguing for unlimited freedom of speech are quick to curtail freedom to protest.

the freedom to protest i agree with, if people want ot march down streets with banners and chanting for whatever is the "IN" thing to protest then absolutely fine, some of the causes i will agree with and other i will not.

the freedom to cause damage to public and private property i am firmly against. The police appear to not be bothered about destruction as they seem quite happy to let it happen, and last summer, politicians seemed to be vocally supportive aswell. This i disagree with.

if someone wants to express an non malicious opinion which i feel offended by, then fine why not.

You can't describe the conflict in Ireland as a racial conflict.
You can't describe the conflict in Syria as a racial conflict.

You can't excuse, defend, or pretend racial discrimination doesn't exist because there is some conflict or other going on somewhere else.
Neither can you ascribe all conflicts to racial hatred.

I suggest you stop standing on your head. It affects the validity of your argument.

i've blocked the person you are referring to, so i can only imagine what is being said, and thankful i cant see his ridiculously long and pointless posts.

I think you've been misled by fillyboy's fake news:

Thanks for the link to the sign up page, but I already have an account. It's you that needs to sign up to see these tweets you were deceived into believing existed.

As you swerved the invite, I consider you were unable to post their tweets to support your fake news.

Then you will unable to refute the criticism of your fake news references.

Nut case!

Do we know the context within which the teacher displayed the material? If he essentially held up a cartoon to poke fun that's one thing, however if he held up a cartoon to make a debating point or to spark discussion, that's completely different.

I have what are probably considered quite extreme views when it comes to religious schools. Extreme in that I don't think religion should be taught in schools full stop. If you are interested in learning more about religion, it should be the reserve of further education courses offered from neutral learning establishments (i.e. no religious leaning one way or the other.) If parents want their children to learn about religion during their formative years, it should be the reserve of classes held by the relevant church or other organisation external to and unassociated with any registered primary/secondary school.

Specifically referring to the UK, imagine if it was leaked that a teacher in a Catholic school had held up a cartoon of Jesus in some sort of funny pose. We don't know the context in which it was held up, all we know is it was. I assert it's possible that some Catholics might congregate outside the school to protest, however I also assert it's not very likely the teacher would receive death threats from within the UK. It is also being reported that most perhaps all of the protestors were not parents of children at that school.

I thought religions were supposed to be based on tolerance, love and peace? It seems that holds true as long as you don't challenge them.

I read an article today about a young girl who died after her 'mother' left her for a few days to go partying. People leaving comments saying 'god love her little soul' and 'she'll be in a better place now.' I would assert if an all powerful god actually exists, perhaps it could have intervened to stop the toddler dying? Oh that's right, god isn't there to intervene in our failings. Aye, whatever.

I pointed out that "bame" are killing each other and you reply with Ireland and Syria.
Whatever you're taking, stop now!
