Hi,
Just changing old freezer to new.
On removing the cover I found the yellow-green wire loose. So a bit confused.
Where do I connect the yellow-green from the new freezer... there's already a yellow-green from the mains in the earth slot. There's another one loose as well from the mains.Pic enclosed.
Many Thanks

So just add the earth wire from the plug into the earth slot ? What about the loose earth wire ? Is this normal - two earth wires ? Apologies if this is a silly query!

I used a Mains tester screwdriver on the side of the freezer and it lit up. No clue what it means or if that's normal !

Was that before you connected the earth wire? Does it still do it now?

It is potentially very dangerous, and not normal. Some non-contact “voltage detector pens” can be very sensitive and light up spuriously, but I think screwdrivers, which actually make a metal-to-metal connection to the thing you’re testing, should be less likely to light up unless there’s a genuine problem (do others agree?).

That’s worrying; it may have meant that other sockets or appliances have had no earth.
Correcting myself here - it looks like that loose earth wire was a connection to the backbox, not the other side of the ring circuit, so it would not have removed the earth from other sockets.
