I'm not one for scaremongering when it comes to virus and spyware problems, but as one of my s/w guys pointed this out to me, I thought it was worth a mention. Here is an extract from his email.
"You may have read recent press reports of the Nyxem Virus that is due to activate on Friday February 3rd, deleting 11 different types of file, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Acrobat files. It will also attempt to disable anti-virus software. Nyxem spreads by enticing people to open e-mail attachments. The virus then mails itself to addresses within your address book."
So, make sure your av software is up to date and, as usual, don't open any unexpected emails/attachments.
