I had a front and rear dash cam wired in, the garage also fitted the dash cam onto the rear and front windscreens. The front dash cam keeps falling down, it won't stick to the windscreen for long. I've had the dash cam for 2 years. The garage I use is great, this seems to be a problem with Mk1 Ford Focus. Can anyone help. I suggested supper glue. Take care folks, good to be back posting on here again.

+1 on a decent solvent cleaner such as lighter fluid or IsoPA and the 3M double sided pads that are made for this.
Clean both screen and the camera mount!

I have the same problem - 3M stuff didn't last either - I think because the sucker expands/contracts. It's in the drawer now, not good, my next plan is to ditch the bracket and fix somehow to the rear view mirror.

No mention of suction pad being used?

Maybe the op can clarify. On mine there's not much surface other than the sucker to try sticky pads. I think when I tried it was still stuck to the glass but had failed to stick to the sucker for very long.

Mine drops into a plastic bracket, which had 3M already in place, with camera also flat to the screen. It hasn't budged, for ten years. If the OP's uses a sucker, I would remove the soft flexible plastic of the sucker, and mount 3M direct onto the backing panel.

I have a Nextbase dash-cam in both my cars using sucker type fittings. On the rare occasion the camera's weight overcomes the suction base I simply slide the camera off the mount, clean the 'screen then dampen the sucker rubber before re-sticking.

I don't know if it's got any bearing on the subject but both my cars are modern classics, so could is it be that today's glass is of a different composition that resists anything sticking to it ?

I’ve got the next base camera it’s been in 3 Skodas up to now ….it probably falls off twice a year …normally if the weather is hot , but that’s about it ….probably the windscreen needs a good clean …

Same here with my TomTom satnav sucker. Twice a year I remove it, clean glass and moisten sucker. If I don't do this it will stay on for 6 months before falling off - usually in hotter months.
