Front dash cam dangling again.

I have a Nextbase camera, but I wouldn't use the suction cup as I have heard so often of them falling off. I use the adhesive patch and, at least so far, the camera has never fallen off. Of course, it is important to make sure it's going in the best place because it isn't easy to pull it off and replace it if it isn't in the best place, although you can by replacement adhesive patches.

Which also makes them very difficult to remove, with a definite risk of cracking the glass. The way to then remove them, is using a thin wire, lubricated with WD40, in a sawing motion, between the device, and the glass, to get the device free, then pick/scrape the pad off, with a plastic scraper, again using WD40.

Thanks. Helpful advice should the situation arise. Incidentally, when we sold our old car last year I just left the mount where it was. I didn't ask for any additional payment for it!

I have a Nextbase dash-cam in both my cars using sucker type fittings. On the rare occasion the camera's weight overcomes the suction base I simply slide the camera off the mount, clean the 'screen then dampen the sucker rubber before re-sticking.

I don't know if it's got any bearing on the subject but both my cars are modern classics, so could is it be that today's glass is of a different composition that resists anything sticking to it ?
Thank you very much for your suggestion. As my Focus is 23 years old, it could be a classic too.
