Frost Stat Query

You thinking a nulled time on the programmer for an unused Heating period? ie: on at 12:00 off at 12:01?
I have a 12:00 on-12:00 off on my programmer but not 12:00 on-12|:01 off. In any event it lasts for only seconds not a minute.

I await further comments on my 10.18 post.

We're not there and can only go by your description.

Unless the switched live on the boiler is getting a very brief pulse of power then it has to be either a boiler fault or the pump cycle.

The pump cycle would likely happen same time (every 24 hrs) and not sure for how long.

Pulse of power from outside source would usually bring fan on first.

Wait to see what vaillant say... I would have called them as more likley to be able to work out in 1 phone call.

Yep that's what I'm thinking even if set to same times . Getting that mommentary pulse of power

Response from Vaillant (very quick !) and my reply :

"When the pump next runs without a demand please could you have a look at the status code that is being displayed on the boilers digital screen.
To access this code you would need to press the top two buttons under the boilers digital display together and then use the + button to navigate to live monitor. Once live monitor is highlighted press the top right button to display the status code."

"That might be difficult as I have only noticed it twice in the 6 months I have had the boiler, it only lasts a few seconds and my boiler is in the loft so would take longer than that to actually get to the boiler.
I previously posted my problem on a CH forum and was told that " it could be the built-in function of briefly turning the pump on momentarily every 24 hours which is a very well-known function in certain boilers for the past couple of decades" - is that incorrect in respect of my boiler ?"

Latest response from Vaillant - gas112 was correct :
"If the boiler or pump hasn't had to function for the past 23 hours then it will momentarily start the pump to make sure the pump doesn't seize."

Searching on the Internet, I found this in the instructions relating to a WB Greenstar Heat Only Boiler :

PUMP ANTI-SEIZURE
If there has been no heating demand for 24 hours the boiler will run the system pump for a few seconds to reduce the possibility of pump seizure during long periods of inactivity, which is more frequent during the summer months'.

This is what I have experienced (when my Drayton Programmer was set to hot water only) from the installation of my boiler in May until October.

Mystery solved !
