I'm redecorating a bathroom after a water leak on the floor above made some small water damage.

Sealent completely detached from the plasterboard and I was wondering if it would be better to use caulk to cover the gap and make better finish between vertical tiles and ceiling? Caulk can also be painted but not waterproof. Sealant is water poof but cannot be painted.

What the deal on this? I'm confused on the best long time result

Thanks
