Hello, any advice gratefully appreciated.
The last two times we've been away for a week or two during cold weather our Alpha Etec 33 boiler in the cold garage has developed a flue sensor fault (error 29) and stopped working meaning that the house got very cold. I was able to get it working again by heating the sensor up with a hairdryer (took under 10 mins) but I'd like to stop it happening again. The boiler is under warranty so I will ring it in but I suspect they will just say the garage is too cold. I was wondering if people think the sensor might be faulty? The operating ambient temp for this boiler is supposed to be down to 5 deg C but I know it went off before the garage got down to that level as my sister was checking the house and we've a thermometer in there. I'm thinking of boxing in the boiler with insulation board (allowing the necessary clearances) with adjustable vents for summer and winter. Thanks in advance for any advice.
