I am not a gas engineer but am a qualified engineer having served a 5-year apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce (Bristol) Ltd and have worked as an R&D engineer with Ford Motor Company and others.
The DIY project I am most proud of is building and flying a single seat aircraft powered by a heavily modded VW Beetle engine.
Well done for all that but I would not be let loose on a Trent engine without some qualifications.
As said before no diy gas work advice given here.
I have been given intelligent and helpful answers to my questions at two other forums.
As for the inept on this thread; the language used, by one particular, and the general attitude by some others is not going to win you any friends.
Furthermore, it gives tradesmen such as yourselves a bad name.
It is clear that whatever training gas fitters get; that is badly lacking in PR skills.

We all have friends, we also have paying customers - of which you are not. If you don't like free advice, then pizz off.

Who gives a flying fvk? I don't. We are trying to keep you, your family and anyone living in the vicinty of 150 metres of your property alive (oh, and follwing site rules about advice on gas).
