Gas mains pipe - How deep for trench?

Hi, I'm getting our gas mains altered and moving the meter. I plan to dig out the trench myself on my garden but just wanted to know how deep this has to be?

Service pipe is 18 inches(450mm) which is what the guy is getting done by the sounds of it

A gas service pipe should normally be laid with a minimum depth of cover of 375 mm in private ground and 450 mm in footpaths and highways.
