New Water Main (Trench for)

It's earth for about 6" under the floor in the hall and then about a foot of concrete

Scrabble away the earth and use a big drill or hire a breaker.

From the inside.

At an angle

So it is at full depth when it breaks into your trench

Keep pulling it out so it does not get stuck.

Just had mine signed off by UU. Mine stepped up before entering the house. I ducted it in 110mm pipe and an adjustable bend to step it up, and insulated that section. Signed off no problem at all.

U can see the insulation exposed for inspector to see. That insulation runs all the way to back of house where pipe comes through suspended floor

Ahh that looks more like it, cheers for that. That'll save me having to dig too much out inside, which would be a right pain. I just hope that Thames water are as accommodating as UU ! What adjustable bend did you use?

Thanks again.

Where did you get those rubber stop ends mate? What are they called? Also what kind of insulation did you use?

Cheers

One thing to note about mine was the inspector commented on the use of cable ties around the insulation. He stopped short of asking me to remove them, but said he'd prefer loose tape - which i also did. Op overkill.
