Make sure your builder knows not to add any fixings to the new box. When I bought mine they said the gas people won’t do the job if there is any sort of fixing going through a new hole in the box.

I foamed mine in without a lintel or cavity tray.

We've retro fitted into a cavity wall without lintels or CT's with zero probs. We have also built them in with an angle lintel and CT.

Ideally the zero risk option is to CT them which would also mean a lintel.
