I'm assuming you meant to say 'Thatcher did me far more good than harm'! (And I don't possess a Literature degree!)

Seriously, this is music to my ears. I'm sick and tired of hearing people complain about Maggie. If she was in charge right now, we wouldn't be in the right mess we are with the EU and illegal immigrant terrorists. She had more balls than all the PMs since, and she was a woman! (Mathematically, she must have had about a dozen balls then!)

100% agree mate a wonderful woman. There was no messing around, if it didn't pay shut it down, there was no way the British taxpayer was subsidising anyone to sleep on their night shift.

I struggle to see the pertinence of my education to this thread, but yes, I have a degree in literature.

Of no practical use to my chosen career, but it does help in one's communication with customers.

Both are/used to be Trustees of the Hackney Empire which was my most visited theatre in 2013. Went there on 24 days, although 8 days were for the show I was taking part in.

You would be surprised just how uninterested the gas suppliers are.

A customer had lived in the house for four years and wanted to sell it.

She had never received or paid any bill.

To help the sale she contacted ALL the gas suppliers and NONE admitted having supplied or even wanted to.

A a minicab firm in NW London has a meter which seems stuck on 9999 whenever I have visited to mend the Biasi boiler!

Had something similar.
Guy bought a repo house, previously it had been empty for years. After moving in he tried to move his gas account to the new property to do this he needed to find out who was supplying the house already, no joy as the house had been empty for so long the house didn't exist according to all the suppliers (no MPRN).
When I went to fit a fire for him the blag meter was so old everything was in Latin! to top it off it was piped up back to front, he told British Gas who he was trying to transfer too & there was fek all they could do because he was living in a house that wasn't there!
Told him to keep records of all calls & letters to show he made an effort to sort his bills & then enjoy the free gas.

Horrible stuff, warm and rancid after it had been sitting on the radiator to defrost before playtime. We gave as much of ours as possible to the school poodle.
