Will be fitting a new valliant 837 boiler and been told from Corgi man, and Gas4U thta it would be best to start off in 28mm.

Now I've looked at the meter, and the meter tails are made from lead, the old pipes were taken out to be replaced a while ago.

Now I've agreed with the Corgi that I will buy the parts needed and he will do labout only, saving me some dosh. Ive had a look in my BES catalogue, and they have a 1" x 28 mm meter union priced ar £8.60 plus VAT, is this about right?

Also am I responsible for the pipe from incoming to meter as thats lead as well?

i usually come off the meter with a 1" x 22mm meter union then using a 22x28 endfeed reducer (increasing the size). saves carrying different size tails.

Probably at a cost yes.

Phone up your supplier

Rather leave old lead in or get Corgi man to install new pipe, only costs a tenner, and im sure if the supplier are going to charge, it will be more then that

Worth the saving or should i just get a 1" x 28mm?

The £orgi man cannot change the inlet pipe to the meter, or should I say he shouldn't

Flexi pipe to replace lead pipe from incoming to meter is only a tenner. The lead pipe from meter to internal gas pipe will be changed to copper
